About

Make Matter.

Run by a granddaughter who, for the last 5 years, has been sent handwritten (and sometimes handmade) cards in the mail every week from her Grandma.

Being part of the first generation to experience social media and personalized technological devices normalized at a middle school age, she ponders the pervasive encroachment of the digital bubble. Critical of a perpetual cycle of over reliance, she notices more and more, the digital immateriality is materially ingrained in daily life.

In August of 2023, she took a step back into analog photography and learned how to use a vintage manual film camera. She began to find composition in the shapes of the built environment around her in new and attention-demanding ways. Through her photos, she hopes to show that the effortlessly mundane can be remarkable.
